Every team member is professionally trained in fitting and styling to ensure that every customer receives premium service that reflects our values, with a relaxed and comfortable experience top of mind. 

In this article, we thought we’d take the opportunity to help you get to know a few of our full-time talents a little more. You’ll recognise them if you’re visiting us in our Auckland and Christchurch stores.

MARTIN

A well-known Christchurch personality, Martin loves working in the footwear industry and has done so since 2001. With experience in roles spanning the whole spectrum of the shoe world, his knowledge of construction, style and fit are second-to-none. Martin is a die-hard Crusaders supporter and can often be found in our local cafés, taking notice of the footwear of passers-by.

One of the many reasons he loves the world of shoes is due to the stories and connections that are shared by our customers. A good pair of shoes enables a gentleman to create the ideal foundation for the occasion ahead. And there’s usually a great story behind buying shoes for an upcoming wedding, or comfortable walking shoes for a special trip away.

Martin’s shoe pick of the season: 
The Lloyd Landry Boot

A chic men’s boot which mixes American outdoor heritage with classic Euro styling, this versatile shoe is suitable for everything from café hopping, to winter adventures around the South Island.

MARK

Hailing from Ellesmere Port in England, Mark is our resident British import, with an eclectic taste in music and a big interest in technology. Naturally, he’s drawn to our significant collection of footwear styles that feature high-tech innovation.

Mark loves the theatre, having worked both backstage and front of stage back in England. But in New Zealand, it’s the South Island landscapes and more frequent blue skies that make Christchurch home.

One of his favourite things about working at Mikko is the relaxed store atmosphere and the opportunity to get to know our customers well.

Arriving from the United States just one year ago, Adam is now our resident Auckland store Manager. While he naturally loves all-American sports (he’s a deft hand at lacrosse and ice hockey), he instantly fell in love with our unique Kiwi culture the moment he arrived, and especially our food.

Adam enjoys working at Mikko Men’s thanks to our breadth of heritage brands, our tightknit family culture, and our unparalleled offering in New Zealand. 

Adam’s shoe pick of the season:
